When you click the link to update the payment method, you should be brought to a customer login screen that like this:
If the system recognizes that you are already of the Shopify “Shop” program, it will present the blue “Continue with Shop” button that you can click to log in.
If you would rather log in with email, you can click the “More sign-in options”, If you are not a member of the “Shop” program, this will also be screen you see. Enter the email address and then click the blue error next to the email address.
Enter your email, and press the blue arrow in that field. You should be presented with a screen to enter a 6-digit code that will be mailed to the email address you registered with:
You should then come to a screen that looks like this?
In the Payment Method section, click the “+” icon to add a new payment method.
You will get the following pop-up:
Click the "Manage Payment Methods" button to be brought to this screen:
Click the “Add” button in the Payment Methods section to add a new credit card in the pop-up screen and click “Save”:
You will see your card added at the bottom of your account. From here, you will want to click the “Subscriptions” link on the left of your screen.
You’ll come to the subscription screen and will need to press the “Manage Subscription” link at the bottom of the page:
On the following screen, press the “Add Payment Method” button to associate the card you just added to this subscription.
Click the “Use this payment Method” button to assign the card.
You have successfully updated your card for your subscription.
