Twin size 100% cotton batting 5. Marking tool that will show on all fabrics. I would recommend the Sewline Ceramic pencil in white or green (depending on fabric colors). Straight pins sturdy enough to pin thru 2 layers of flannel and batting without bending. I recommend the Clover Flower head pins. Wonder Clips will work but are just bulkier to work with. 6. Thread that blends with backing and quilt front colors. The thread will show so try not to do to much of a contrast unless you’re very confident! Glide polyester thread has a great selection of colors and works great for this project. You will use quite a bit of thread. 7. Sewing machine with standard presser foot not ¼” foot. We will not need machines the 1st week. 8. Cutting Tools – Rotary cutter at least 45mm. Rulers- Many rulers will work to cut the squares but here are several recommendations to make it easier and more accurate –#1 choice- Stripology XL ruler (I will demo in class) #2 -8 ½” x 24 ½” Creative Grid ruler, #3- 8 ½” square Creative Grid ruler.
